At Being Alive, we believe in order for a HIV+ person to take charge of his/her medical care, HIV and AIDS education is paramount. Our objective is to provide access to abundant medical information as well as the current treatments available.
Our members have access to a variety of current HIV and AIDS education programs, such as our Medical Update forum (see below), the HIV+ Speaker’s Bureau (see below), and our educational Being Alive Newsletter. Additionally, our trained staff offers opportunities for individual education as well as harm reduction information. For individual education please contact our main office for further assistance.
Being Alive hosts monthly medical Updates presented by well respected HIV medical and mental health professionals. These forums are open to the community and include a free dinner buffet. Medical Updates are announced in our calendar or for more information feel free to contact:

Get PrEPared workshops meet weekly three times for 75 minutes and one month following to provide education, referrals, and open dialogue about preventing HIV and STD transmission. Topics include safer sex, PrEP, and advocacy. This group is open to all people and not just members of Being Alive. Receive a $30 Target gift card for attending all 3 workshops and a $20 Target gift card for participating in the individual follow up session.
