Dear Being Alive Family,

In the wake of the recent troubling election results, we - the Being Alive staff, executive board and therapeutic team - would like to take a brief moment and affirm our commitment to your health, happiness and wellness.

While we wholly recognize that each of us - as individuals, as an organization, as a diverse and beautiful community - will be facing many challenges in the coming years, Being Alive shall stand strong and weather this political storm. Throughout our organization's rich 30-year history, we have faced many uphill battles, and we have triumphed in the face of adversity.

What we encounter today is no different. We are a strong and resilient people; not only will we survive...but we will thrive.

If at any time you find yourself in need of assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to our staff. We are here for you. Nothing in our psychosocial wellness programs will change, and we encourage you to take full advantage of our services - from psychotherapy to holistic care, from case management and education to social support activities.

As Dr. Emma Brookner said in The Normal Heart: "We don't need everybody's love and approval... What we need now is to work together."
