January 8 – Lars and the Real Girl (2007)  Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling) is an awkwardly shy young man in a small northern town who finally brings home the girl of his dreams to his brother and sister-in-law’s home.  The only problem is that she’s not real – she’s a sex doll Lars ordered off the internet.  But sex is not what Lars has in mind, rather a deep, meaningful relationship.  Dinner RSVP due by 4pm on 1/5/18

January 15 – No Movie due to Martin Luther King Day Holiday

January 22 – Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001) In Mexico, two teenage boys and an attractive older woman embark on a road trip and learn a thing or two about life, friendship, sex, and each other.  In Spanish with English subtitles.  Bring your reading glasses.  Brief nudity!  Dinner RSVP due by 4pm on 1/19/18.

January 29 – Fences (2016) Troy Maxson makes his living as a sanitation worker in 1950s Pittsburgh.  Maxson once dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but was deemed too old when the major leagues began admitting black athletes.  Bitter over his missed opportunity, Troy creates further tension in his family when he squashes his son’s chance to meet a college football recruiter.  Viola Davis received an Academy Award for her performance in this adapted play by August Wilson.  Dinner RSVP due by 4pm on 1/26/18.
