November 13 – You’ve Got Mail (1998) – Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) owns a small children’s bookstore in New York until Fox Books, a mega-chain of super-sized bookstores, begins building across the stree. Joe Fox (Tom Hanks), an executive with the family-owned firm, is directly responsible for this particular branch. Kathleen despises Joe and everything he seems to stand for. However, when they are logged onto their respective computers (using dial-up modems), they develop a strong, though anonymous, romance. Dinner RSVP due by 4pm on 11/10/17.
November 20 – Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) – Two days before Thanksgiving, marketing consultant Neal Page races to catch a plane home to Chicago, only to find that his flight has been delayed. Hours later, he boards the plane and ends up next to obnoxious salesman, Del Friffith. When the flight is detoured to AWichita, the mismatched pair are forced to find their own way to Chicago by any means necessary. Bring your own pillows to keep your hands warm. Dinner RSVP due to 4 p.m. on 11/10/2017.
November 27 – Miracle on 34th Street (1947) When her toy department Santa shows up drunk for work, Macy’s supervisor Doris Walker hires Kris – an elderly gentleman with a white beard who looks like Santa Clause – as her emergency replacement. She comes to regret her choice, however, when she learns that Kris believes that he really is Santa. Kris works not only to restore Doris’ belief in Santa Claus but make her young daughter’s wishes come true, all while trying to prove his identity in a court of law. Early dinner RSVP due by 4 p.m. 11/22/17 due to office closure for Thanksgiving.
